3 HOURS?!?! You expect me to sit down and watch this train wreck of a season for 3 HOURS on a Monday night when I have to mold the young minds of America in the morning. You’re damn right I did. I am hooked, what can I say. Full transparency, I am not having as much fun watching these last couple seasons as I did Colton’s and Hannah’s season. But hey, I am a man of the people, I am a part of Bachelor Nation, I have to remain loyal. And this not so fun season has forced my hand into blogging, so there are some positives.

Look, I get it, it was not the best season they have had. Maybe we can blame that on the Pandemic, or we can blame it on the casting. I am going to go with the latter (Pretty sure I used that right). There were some gems, shout out Michelle, Katie, Bri, and Abigail. But for the most part, they casted a bunch of mean girls who loved calling themselves the “OGs” when they had been there for maybe a week longer than the new girls that came in. Which I thought was laugh out loud funny. I may start calling myself an OG Bachelor Nation member even though I have only been watching the show the last 2 years, but technically I am OG because I was into the show before at least some people. Checks out.

Wearing the crown after the season aired is a wild move. Queen of what? Being delusional. Got her.

And do I even need to mention that even after getting to reflect and watch the whole season, these girls still think the things they said and did were justified. Damn, I honestly wish I was that delusional. Getting to see the world through that type of lens has to be incredible. D on my algebra quiz. You know what I see, not an F, that makes me King of algebra. Book it.

And not Chelsea saying that there was not drama or toxic energy in the house until Katie called them out on it. You’re right Chelsea. The toxic energy may have have not been visible to you until it got called out. But me as a viewer, even not wearing my glasses most of the time, I saw it, hell, I couldn’t miss it. We missed out on my favorite parts of the Bachelor/Bachelorette because of drama, the group dates. Group dates are the best, up to like 15 girls or guys vying for one persons attention. You can’t write the type of shit that comes out of those dates. And me missed most of it because I had to see this on my screen for 75% of the episode:

I even feel like we really didn’t get to know who Matt was because of all the time spent on the drama in the house. I remember saying to myself throughout the season, “Matt is just such a nice guy”. That is all I knew about him. I guess we did see that he likes kissing with his eyes open and saying “thanks for sharing” as well. But thats it, that pretty much all the information they gave us about him. I saw an interview with him on the Chicks in the Office podcast. I saw more of his personality in that than this whole season of the Bachelor. I am going to chalk that up as some bad editing this season.

So we get into the final episode. Matt seems super happy with Michelle. To me it seems like they have a great connection. Even sharing a snowball fight before she hops in the SUV. Side note: Michelle has got a cannon, she fired that snowball (ice and gravel ball) and nearly domed him. Michelle won me over with her nice personality, her jumper, and now her arm. Matt, if you wanted D1 babies, that was your chance. I really wish that connected, not because I want to see Matt hurt or anything, because I wanted to see the reaction. Thats the test of a true relationship. We probably would have found out he was not feeling her sooner.

Which honestly I did not see coming. Michelle seemed to fit in seamlessly with Matt’s mom and brother. (shoutout Matt’s brother asking more in depth questions than Chris does sometimes) I really think when Patty said “Feelings fade” Matt’s whole mindset changed. He was SHOOK. It is like something clicked in his head. But hey, everything happens for a reason, Michelle getting blindsided after giving matching jerseys with Mr. and Mrs. on the back. That was her Bachelorette origin story moment. The moment the will probably show at least 20 times on her upcoming season. Bachelor/Bachelorette producers LOVE bringing up old trauma. I also, guarantee someone is bringing her a jersey on night one limo entrances. BOOK IT.

So onto Rachel. I tried my best this season not to give her much attention. (Couldn’t really avoid her smashing into the ground during her sky diving date) I still cannot believe we did not get more slow mo footage of her face making pancake divots in the grass. But that is besides the point. What she did was ignorant, tone deaf, and racially insensitive. And for those saying “ Oh, it was her past, she didn’t know better” Bro, that was in 2018, less than 3 years ago. Unacceptable to have that ignorance that recent. I do not feel bad for her at all, I do not wish any ill will on her, but she made her bed, now she has to lay in it. And from what I saw in her interview during the After the Final Rose (which I thought Emmanuel Acho did a phenomenal job steering those conversations) she seems like she gets it now, she seems sorry and wants to educate herself. Which that is awesome. The person I feel most bad for is Matt. He thought he found the love of his life, he picked her out of the 30 women you had there and then all of this come out. I guess that’s the risk you take when you only know someone for a short period of time.

If you did not watch Matt and Emmanuel’s conversation during After the Final, I highly recommend it. Great informative conversation that puts you in the shoes of what they go through on a day to day basis.

All in all, this season was a mess (at least they didn’t have to spend months at the La Quinta in the Palm Springs desert). Look I love the drama, but this drama was malicious and was very hard to find the comedy in it. I hope Matt finds love and his happiness. And I look forward to the next two seasons of the Bachelorette. I believe Katie and Michelle will be some good leads. They are not going to take the drama and the bull shit. I think this show will have the comedic factor like Colton and Hannah’s seasons. I am ready to get back to that. More reactions to come.
